How do you take a forend off?
« on: March 05, 2005, 07:15:22 PM »
OK, here is my delimma;

I have two 1894 Marlins, one in 41mag and the other in 44mag.
Strange as it may sound, the forend of the 44 would match perfectly with the buttstock of the 41. and vise versa. I've removed the two screws on the forend, pushed the metal foward, pulled on the stock, but where the two screws go in, they are blocking the way for the wood forend to come off.
What do I do??
Thanks.  :grin:

You need to also pull the screw that holds the mag tube to the barrel. It's at the end of the mag tube.
 ****Be careful, as the tube is under spring pressure, and don't pull the screw out of the tube, just loose from the barrel, then pull down on the tube, until it clears the mount, and let the forearm wood, and mag assembly move forward together.
