RCBS Rock Chucker Kit
« on: February 26, 2005, 10:41:19 AM »
I have decided to buy the RCBS Rock chucker kit. I have heard many good things about it. The only bad thing I have heard is the reloading manual is not so good. What is the best price you have seen for the kit. Here is the lowest I have seen online and in any store so far....

ABaker,
Can't see the price on the website you posted.  Maybe it didn't open completly.  Midsouth has the Rock Chucker Supreme Kit for $262.63.  Don't know if that is better or worse.  But, RCBS is good.  I started with one of their kits over 35 years ago.  It continues to continue.  Good-luck...BCB

They are asking $224.95. I wonder if they charge tax?

I just found a cheaper one, Midsouth Shooters Supply. They are asking $219. Also the shipping was cheaper. I bought it.

Both MidSouth and Natchez are good to buy from, neither charges any tax for Arizona folks.  However their shipping can make or break the difference.  With Natchez they have only been able to give me estimates on shipping which have not been far off.  I don't remember with MidSouth but I believe it was the same.

With those two outfits I think you would be better advised placing the order by phone rather than on line, just to get a better idea on the shipping and to ask about any other discounts they may offer you.

Those are definately great prices from both Natchez and Midsouth excluding the unknown shipping charges. It is the same kit I started with but as stated above, you will need accessories to go with it such as calipers, etc.

Another good source for supplies besides your local gun shop who needs your support is Midway USA. They have sales all the time as I just picked up some Nosler .224 bullets at a pretty good price in a Varmit pack that cut $0.06 a piece off the local price. As much as I shoot Noslers, that is a huge difference.

You may want to check out the price and the shipping and handling charges at www.grafs.com and compare it to the other websites. If I have to order online instead of buying from the locals, 7 out of 10 times I buy from Grafs and Sons.

For the kit Midsouth is still the cheapest I have seen, coming to $244 after shipping. That is $35 dollars cheaper than buying it at the local gun store. I couldn't pass that up.
