fair price for trigger job, slicking the rails Springfield

I just bought a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 target- supposed to have a match barrel, ramp shines like its been polished and other goodies.
It has a hard trigger pull with a two stage travel.
I would like to get the trigger job done right 3.5 pound pull and slick up the rails so they are a bit smoother. Probably will loosen up after a few hundred rounds. It has adjustable sights with the little glow in the dark dots. It seems to be very accurate if I can control my wobble factor.
The trigger has a sharp edge and I would like to smooth over the sharp edge. I only have about 75 rounds with it.
Comments or suggestions to slick this gun up to be a bit smoother .
I has a MSRP of $1080 so its definatly a better grade gun.

Wow! A $1100 dollar pistol that needs smithing right out of the box!! I'd give Springfield a call, Surely they'll make it right!

I'm having a similar experience with the trigger on my $1100 Kimber!

Swifty, before you send that gun to a smith.  Shoot the heck out of it.  I have one and felt the same way about it.  I am now very happy with the way it "broke in".   I would not reccommend sending it anywhere but the range with lots of ammo.  After 800 to 1000 rounds, if ya still don't like the way it feels then have a smith do his magic.  I am quickly nearing the 2000 round mark in mine and it is smooth as silk.  My .02

I sent it back to sprinfield armory aftter talking to the customer service person. The trigger pull was rough, lots of creap and very inconsistent .
They were very understanding and said they will look it over.

Give us an UpDate when you get your Springfield back as to their customer service and repairs.

I have done any number of trigger jobs on my 45s, and I like to take them to a nice clean 3.5 lbs with no creep.  Even so, the feel of the trigger improves with with use.  Give it 500-1000 rounds.  

By the way, a 5 lb trigger with no creep is better than a 3 lb trigger with creep.
