I took a big, male bobcat a couple of months ago with a Lyman Great Plains Rifle with .50 cal roundball. Dropped him in his tracks at 80 yds, with no exit wound. Took a 6 point buck 35 minutes later with the same rifle at 45 yds, also with no exit. He also went right down. These rifles were doing the job just fine long before cartridge guns came along. Them new fangled inlines ought to get it done OK.
