Looking at purchasing a 7mm-08 Encore barrel and don't know which barrel length to purchase. What are your preferences for length due to muzzle blast and felt recoil? I've seen in other threads that once you get past the 12" lengths then a rest is needed.

i like the 15"ers. i still shoot all my long barreled pistols offhand with aid of my sling. if possible, i want to rest any of em.

I had a 12" 7-08, sold it to buy a 15" and am glad that I did. The 12" had a lot more felt recoil and muzzle blast.
