Overflow and new ice on river BVR a PAIN in da - ss!

:cry:   had to use a chain saw with three foot bar to get my bvr and otter traps out of  some of the rivers i trap today.  Picked up only one bvr and one otter and one muskrat on that river but glad as H-ll to get off of it.  Anybody that has done this knows what i mean and the FUN it is LOL.

LOL- a lot of my streams are connected to the Mississippi River.   It is common on these streams to have that happen due to the adjustments at the locks and dams.   Notihning like having 4-5 inches of ice over a foot of running water- then the "real" ice then your beaver set.

A chop that out with a spud!  :cry:

LOL- A lot of my streams are connected to the Susquehanna River.   These streams don't get much if any ice because there aren't any locks and only a few scattered dams remain, most are torn out.   Nothing like sitting around drinking coffee in your stocking feet while a fire crackles in the fireplace and reading about how some poor guy is having a hard time chopping his traps out of the ice.  :-D

BTW> you would look mighty silly trying to chop ice with a potato.

When I was a little kid, I found out spuds were potatoes and I began to constantly refer to them by that term- as in "Please pass me the spuds"

For some reason, like calling her "ma"- both these terms drove my mother nuts!
