Take a piece of cable, form it to the loop width you will use, then add what you will need to reach your slide wire. This gives you a good idea of what you will actually need for cable length.

a cable cut  42" long will make a aprox 12" loop . Then just add , to what you want.
I use a 1/16" x 48" 1x19 snare with a 3/32" x 72" extension cable, swiveled ,Slim Lock. (where legle) To snare Beaver,Coyote, Red Fox,Gray Fox,Coon, Bobcat.I would use the same snare on Fisher if I ever had the oppournity to snare them.
