I bought one in 30 cal. and had it installed as a 30-30 on a Browning 78 (1885) action. While I haven't had a lot of time to work with it, it seems like a good barrel and the fellow who did the work for me thought it was pretty good too. The only thing to be aware of is it takes a fair amount of work to remove the machining marks on the octagon flats, but this is a minor concern for most people I would guess.
