I decided I will wait until summer and if I don't hear anything postitive from H&R, I will be getting a Remington 7600 in .35 Whelen...at least then I will have my Whelen!

Sent them another e-mail last night about their response that it was not a good seller.  Well no they put it out in a commerative model, better wood, inlaid medallion in stock, longer barrel, and higher price.  Who wants to buy a commerative model to haul around the woods hunting.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I know, I know...that's why I have been holding out for the last six months...  I have had the reloading dies for a year, but still no rifle! :(

E mail sent a long with the question about how many units they would need to make a run of them. I think I could sell them here if they would make 50.

The reply was that it would take an order of somewhere between 50-500 for them to consider a special run. I'm not an ffl holder but if I was I'd get a little more serious about this. Lots of folks here seem to want them and every time a gun or barrel shows up on one of the auction sights it sell for as much as new.

Markus buddy,
You are very wrong with the above statement.  In about three years of looking, I have yet to see one sell for as much as new!  I would own one if they sold for that cheap!  Online I see them for between $300-$500!
Let me know if you "get serious" about this...or else I will go the Remington route.
 :D
