I like Ultra dot and Millet. Price is around $125.00 to 135.00. I have and use both on my 500 MAG's.  :D

I like the ultradots, they run about $125.  They hold up with the recoil, I have mine on a 44 mag Contender.  There are cheaper ones to buy, but ultradots have always  served me well.

8) I have used Millett and Tasco on my 45/70 Handguns and Marlins, and use an Optima on my .44 Mag..  I have had no problems with any of them. I also have a Leupold-Gilmore on my Ruger Mark II Target which I like a lot.  Not much recoil to the .22, but the sight is very clear.  I have heard good things about the new Burris, and think I will give that one  try.  Regards.

If you're going to hunt with it, check your regs. They aren't legal here.

I really like the MILLET model SP1.

Have had one on my Ruger Mark II for years now, and that set up sure is a deadly small game getter!

The Ultra Dot is also a good one, a friend of mine has had one on his Freedom Arms .454 for years.  He shoots it A LOT w/full power loads and that red dot is still doing great!

Hope this helps, good luck w/ your decision

Another UltraDot user here.  Have it on my SRH.  $119.  Great value.

Have destroyed three ADCOs within fifteen rounds on light recoil Contender barrels-- .223 and .30 Herrett.  These with the top of the line ADCO not the cheaper ones.  Just put a ATN Ultra Dot on my S&W .41 mag.  I expect a lot better from it!  I've had better luck with $30 BSAs from Wally World.

daddywpb,

I couldn't find where it was prohibited in the Florida regs.  How does that reg read?  Thanks.

All I could fine was this; Hunting with a bow equipped with sights or aiming devices with electronic computational capabilities or light projection (laser) features during any archery season. That to me says range finder sights and lasers that PROJECT a dot onto the animal. I think some people confuse a laser with a red dot sight because of the "red dot" that is refered to.
Love those .41s'

Crawfish is correct. You can not use a laser sight in many states but red dots are legal almost everywhere.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

8) I have heard there are a couple of states and some Canadian Provinces that preclude the use of red dot sights by the language "electronic sighting devices".  In those areas, you can use a sight like the Reflex because it does not rely on electronic power to illuminate the reticle.
