another question regarding burris spotting scopes.
« on: March 08, 2005, 05:13:40 AM »
are they worth money? i'm looking for something smaller with better glass for taking mule deer hunting this fall. my big cheap simmons just isn't cutting it. i don't use a spotting scope except when hunting out west which is once a year. i really can't afford to spend $300-400 on a spotting scope. so what do you think or recommend?

I think they are, especially when you buy the package deals they have going now bundled with a rifle scope.  I have a couple of their compact 20X50 and they do well with that combination when looking out in the open.  They are superior to the cheaper and heavier spotting scopes that I have around to lend out to folks who did not bring one along.

However I prefer something brighter to see in the shadows for anything in their beds under the cedars and junipers.  So I am thinking about one of their packages that comes with the 12-24X50 spotting scopes to use at the lower magnification for greater brightness.

hello
the burris spotter is worth the money  however i would suggest no less
than the 15x45x60 at minimum  mine is the 20x60x80mm and i love it
burris spotters have great glass and are priced right   also keep in mind
that these spotters are water resistant and not waterproof just in case you hunt in the rain  other than that the burris will serve you well and
you wont break the bank by buying one!!
