The 10.5" Performance Center 500 Mag continues to amaze

I got to play around with the Hornady 350 grain XTP loading this weekend.

Believe it or not, the only groups that I shoot with it were at 200 yards since I had been setting up a Sako TRG-42 (338 Lapua).

Anyway, the theme of the day was five shot groups that averaged 3" at 200 yards.  Not bad considering the bull measured 4".

We had fun with it blowing up oranges and water bottles...

Again, I was very impressed with this revolver after my earlier sessions.

This weekend, at 200 yards, off a makeshift front rest, it really made a statement about the quality of these pistols.

I own the 8 & 3/8 " S&W 500 I never tried shooting the 350 gr bullets at 200 yds. Mine go at 1780 FPS. I'm sure I could hit a target at 150 yds. I've shot the 270 gr bullets at a target at 200 yds and hit it. Sounds real nice with the longer barrel.

The 500 MAG is an awesome round. I guess that is why I have 2 guns chambered in it. A BFR 500 MAG and the 4 inch S&W500. I did have a 8 3/8 S&W that got similar accuracy ay 100 yards, but I was using the 440 gr. cast performance bullets.
