Need advise dealing with bushnell

I sent in a bushnell trophy 3x9x40 rifle scope for repair,the darn thing wouldn't track right and about 3 weeks later got a new scope in the mail from bushnell,only problem it's a banner 3x9x40,i don't think i like that deal, i called them,after dealing with them for the past week,they would not return my calls after they said they would check on it and call me back,i finally got ahold of someone in repair they told me my trophy rifle scope had a banner serial # so even though i bought a trophy in the trophy box and all the trophy paperwork and trophy printed on the scope they said it was a banner and all they could do is replace it with a banner,what do you guys think my next move should be,besides buy leupold..

see how it performs, and if you dont lose sleep at night, and assuming it works good, keep it.

if youre looking for peace of mind, unload it and get something you wont get ulcers over.

I don't care if your Trophy scope has Banner serial numbers or not, it's a Trophy with a Trophy box!  You SHOULD get another Trophy and I'm surprised that Bushnell hasn't given you another Trophy.

How old is the scope?  Why don't you just return it from where you bought it?  Where did you buy it?  I know that Jon at the Optic Zone has a 30 day return policy on (I think) ALL of their scopes.

Come to think of it, doesn't Bushnell have a "try it for one year and if you're not happy with it for one year, just return it no questions asked?" or is that just for their Elite line?

Call/E-mail someone higher up in the Bushnell food chain and tell them what has happened. If that doesn't help talk to the local BBB and perhaps the the state attorneys office. Don't let them get away with it!

Hey guys i finally got a bushnell superviser to call me today,talked to him about my problem he finally told me to send the banner back and he would send me a new trophy scope so i guess problem solved,thanks for the input..

The Leupold lifetime warrenty is good as long as they are in business.  At the rate they're going IMHO they will price themselves out of business. Leupold scopes are good but they have competition and at a lower price. If they didn't need more money why did they come out with the VX1 and Rifleman lines? Just because it has the Leupold name doens't make it the best to everyone. I bought a VX2 1x4 last year. They raised the price $40 recently and I don't consider the scope worth $299.

Really! What Redhawk said! The only reason Leupold came out with the Rifleman line was to tempt cheapskate Simmonds and Tasco buyers into trying a decent scope. Then they have you. You will soon buy better scopes for all your guns, and they will all be Leupolds!
Dave in WV, I picked up that same scope, from Cabela's bargain cave last year, for $229. Is it worth $299? I think my life is worth at least that much, and that's the scope I have on my .375 H&H. I'm comfortable with it.

Leupolds are well worth the money. IMHO, They have improved their optics and they are built to last! My brother is a professional brench rest shooter and he says most bench rest shooters use Leupold because they are built the best and don't loose their point of impact. Repeatability is the name of the game when your shooting .264" 3 shot 200 yard groups! The thing I like about them is how light and short they are compared to the Elite's. Leupold is here to stay.

I did speak for myself. That's why my post is worded "IMHO". I have not posted Leupold products are not  good. I do not believe Leupold products continue to be price competitive. As I have posted before what one likes another may not and after all it is our money to spend as we like. If it was truly a "life or death" situation I would consider express sights since they are more durable than a scope. If you like Leupold optics and believe they are the best by all means by them. If someone believes brand X is a better buy at $150 less then that is the product to buy for them. Look around, Leupold is the LAST American owned company making their optics for in the US. There may be target/tactical scopes made here by other companies. How long Leupold survives is anyone's guess. I hope for a long time.
