but I'm new to the subject and the more I read, the more I want to get into it. It's a little late in the season now, but figured if I at least start learning the sets, modifying the traps, etc it'll give me most of what I need for next season. The reason I'm posting is that around the area here where I live is about the only place I can work until I get more land to use and the problem for me here is that the neigbors have quite a few dogs and cats that tend to roam around. Most of the sign I've seen around here over the past few years has been bobcat, but have seen a few reds lately too. I'm dying to get one of each if not more, but not sure as to how to handle it to keep the pets out of my sets. I'm sure there is no sure-fire way or gurantee that they won't get snapped, but would like to find the best way to avoid this. And, if they do get into a coilspring, is there that much damage to worry about?...I'd love to give the conis a try, but not sure til I hear from you folks. Can't use snares here unless half is covered in water and the coils have to be no larger than 5 1/2" spread which is no problem.
Any suggestions on which way to go?
Thanks for the great website :-)
