Just letting everyone know. Back in production by popular demand! The Viper line of ammunition. This ammunition is .45 ACP loaded with 150g of 7 1/2 size nickel plated shot (apx. 110ct). This shot has a very thin coating of nickel for lubrication during loading and for it's travel down the bore. This ammunition will not hurt your rifling in any way. The brass has an integral shoulder for proper head-spacing in semi-automatic pistols. Most pistols will cycle correctly with the original recoil spring. If you have increased your spring weight, it may not cycle; however a quick hand cycle of the slide will chamber a fresh round. They are crimped in a star pattern with a round profile for positive feeding from the magazine. This ammunition is designed for small pest control and especially snakes (hence the Viper name). This is a must for those who hike, camp, or fish in areas that snakes may be present. Center the bore-line with the head of the snake, pull the trigger, and your snake problem is solved. Packaged 25 rounds per box. 8.85 per box

cci's work for me. even cycle my action. i also shot and killed a asparagus eatin' rabbit at 30' through brush. tipped him right over.

i assume you are producing this ammo? i didnt realize this orginally.
if they are anything like the cci's preformance wise they will definatly neutralize a snake. are they crimped or do they use a shot retention system like the cci's? i think that is cci's only weak link. but maybe gives a better pattern?

Ron - you have a line-up of ammo I am just going to have to get into. I like the idea of the 22 Reed you made up and now the shot capsules. Looks like I know where I'm gonna be spendin' my money. Thanks for the info. Mikey.

They are crimped I'll include a pic. The problem I've had with the CCI's and others that are in semi-auto calibers is that the dang plastic is so fragile that they break half the time on the feedramp. And as Murphy would have it, it always happens when you really need that second shot.
We are working on them for 40S&W and 9mm as well, but the 45's are ready for sale. I've been looking at using #9, 11, & 12 but so far I'm happy with the patterns of the 7.5 and the retained energy is a tad batter. Not really enough to impress real world situations, but it looks good on paper.

If you're taking requests or ideas:

A .357mag and .44mag shotshell to compete with CCI.

...something with a little heavier load then the el'cheapo CCI stuff. CCI's is retro designed to work within the .38spl and .44spl guns and doesn't take full advantage of the .357 or .44 case length or max pressures.

also,

.380acp, defense loads.. Only high energy loads available for the .380ACP are the Glazer and Magsafe prefragmenting loads. @ rediculously over priced rates for 6-10 rounds. ...nothing against fragmenting stuff in use, but a solid/hollowpoint light but hi-velocity .380 would be nice for BG's in winter coats.

you'll be probably be getting an order for the .45acp shotshells from me in the near future.

Fear of snakes is a particularly persistent phobia that really needs to be debunked. I've been in fairly close proximity of rattlesnakes in the 3-4 foot length catagory and did not feel at all threatened. One must have the good sense to keep a proper distance from venomous snakes but to go about shooting them is pure nonsense unless you are planning to use the meat and skin. Some folks like to kill things just to be killing something and snakes seem to get no consideration as to needless killing. Its kinda like fat people used to be. They were fair game for any insensitive clod who thought he had a great sense of humor. If you really NEED to kill snakes (maybe you've got children and pets) then do so, but killing snakes just because they are snakes is pure out and out silliness.

I agree with you Dusty.

I'm one of the few that DONT shoot them just to be killing something. I have no personal or spiritual "beef" with snakes.

The few I have killed was as lawful game or I was in a bad situation with the critter in question.

Some people allow their personal or spiritual fears of snakes to take over, thus promote killing of the legless critters.
