A memorial I thank not, just the facts ma'am, just the facts.

I fear for those who live in fear does this make me a conundrum. Or am I a freedom fighter.

I'm Sorry DAWG.... Did I wake the sleeping giant?

It's about time people start speaking what they mean.  I guess that's why I'm a bad man, because I say what I mean, and mean just what I say.

This year will be my first trip to Winnsboro, but from everything I have heard from shooters that have been in the past it is a well run match with a boat load of give aways, and awards. Now How can anything about that be wrong? hey and free beer! With all of the work that Dave and Bill are doing for this year and years past I have nothing but Thanks for many hours of work. These guys love the sport and truly support all of us.

Hornetx60,

Don't be sorry, needed a good kick in the lower end to remind me just what we are doing this for. It's not the prizes or the trophies, it's the personal pride of knowing you have done your best for all the world to see, and that little thing right behind the eyeballs saying just one more, just one more. To walk up last at the awards and take the whole thing. To fight the good fight and win. To stand beside the people who have made this sport one of pride, honor and respect and call them friends. If you don't stand for somthing, you will fall for anything. Putt'in away the soap box now, but I know where it is.

I'm awake Bill.

Just tuned into this thread and find it quite interesting.  Had to see why it has had 33 responses and add my two bits to increase my posts count.

At the big matches in the States what does fifth place Master get for a prize and what would a first place A shooter get assuming the scores they shot were indicative of the class they are in?

My point is that I just started shooting formal competitions and I ended up getting some medals and trophies for being an AA an A shoooter.  It was nice to get a little something but it was not expected and I felt guilty that third place AAA got nothing but the glory, or lack of, for shooting a substantially higher score than I did.

If people are more motivated to shoot for prizes they are shooting for the wrong reason.  One only needs to look to the NHL season this year to see this point being illustrated.
