I've been known to drive my wife nuts, but not with my turkey call! I usually don't start practicing until a week or two before my 5-day time period if I draw a permit here in Wisconsin. This year I drew a permit for the fourth time period out of six....mine is May 5 thru May 9. I prefer earlier but I wasn't that lucky this year, oh well. I haven't been skunked yet in the 6 years I drew permits, I have a knack for it as they say plus I use a home made call that I'm convinced really, really helps. I made a wing bone call and it sounds OK, but I think it has a slightly different pitch or sound to it along with how I use it. I don't call any more than I have to, I have learned WHEN to call, HOW to call, and WHEN TO SHUTUP. I will admit I can make it sound like a pretty lonely, wanton hen if you know what I mean. I have no need to ever use another call, it's always worked very well for me. The birds are tougher to call in later in the season but many times late morning has proven to be excellent when the toms are left alone when the hens are starting to nest, I can sometimes find a tom by himself willing to come in to my call. I would enjoy hearing some things about your turkey hunting if you so wish. I also wouldn't mind telling you more about my equipment, etc., if you wanted to hear.

Soon ;D ;D In the spring Theres a flock that hangs out on my neighbors field. Last year  same time every day there would be the toms All fluffed up & doing the strut on the far edge of his field. I would grab the spotting scope & watch out the kitchen window. My 8 y/o girls would let me know if there were turkys in the field. One morning my wife & I were sleeping in.7am or so Dont happen much with 3 kids. My girls came running in yelling "Big Joes in the field, Big Joes in the field"  They got Tom & Joe mixed up.  Its nice having the kids doing the preseason scouting for ya.

Oh yeah. Ive been turkey hunt for 2 years. So the wife is like "Great another hunting season "
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting
