Any factory 7mm-08 loads under 139 grains?
« on: March 15, 2005, 02:22:41 PM »
Hello,
I am getting a 7mm-08 for my son to try out and am looking for a factory load with less than a 139-140 grain bullet . . . are there any out there?  I saw that Remington "used" to make a 120gr HP but cannot find any.  I do not handload so any advice/leads would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason Burns

generally the 120gr and lighter loads for the 7mm-08 are varmint bullets. if your going to have him hunt larger animals stick with the 139-140 grainers.

I agree . . . I was just looking for the lightest recoil option for him to get used to shooting the gun.  Not to hunt deer with . . . bt the fall he would be more comfortable with the rifle hopefully.  I think I found a source for some 120 grainers though!
