35 whelen 225 nosler ballistic tip
« on: March 07, 2005, 09:21:06 AM »
Hey guys I'm new here and have a question about this bullet. I'm going to load this for A Reminton 7600, I'm going by the Nosler fifth edition book. it says the maximum overall lenght is 3.340"
I'm down to 3.30" just to get it to eject from the gun. I used a marker on the bullet and did not touch lands, to me it looks like the bullet is a little far back in the case I could be wrong. is this okay? I only loaded 180 gr. before and had lots of room to eject them.

Thanks for any help

I have mine at 3.315 and they are more accurate than any other bullet.  As long as you are not going too deep below the shoulder you will be fine.
....make it count

I just finally got an answer off Noslers web board and they said to seat this bullet at 3.340" which is what my Nosler book said. they also told me I should take my rifle to a gunsmith so they turn it a little more. do I have to do this?
Also my Nosler book gives me only one case lenght of 2.494" what do you trim it to? is this the max.

Thanks, Scott
