Wisconsins Public Spring Meeting on setting a feral cat hunt

What are your views on this.  I believe this has gone all over the USA already.  I own cats and they STAY IN HOUSE.  Anything outside  straying around should be euthanized to save wildlife.

I have cats myself. They're FIXED and roll around my porch,too lazy to kill anything but time.Yes, I understand the motivation behind... um...zapping freeroamers.

Yes like Tom said keeps things in line as many eyes look these sites over.  ALot of these people that are against hunting cats go with euthanizing them thru an organization  like Humane society.  Ive seen three Humane Soc  make statements to this affect.... Now are the Humane societys going to pay people to bring in the feral cats??? I dont think so as they loan out cages to trap them but wont do it themselves... Just throwing  out what ive heard so far...

you guys have the right take on your cats- keep control of them.  that is the kind of responsible cat owner that the world could learn from.    cats are great at what they do-kill.  
   as a side note, the only thing i like about fishers are that they love to eat cats.  with all the fisher around here,  cats outside of town are pretty rare anymore.   :grin:
   down in southern wisconsin, they dont have any help from the wild animals in controling the cats,  save coyotes.   hunters that think of  themselves as conservationalists would do well for the native specie to help control feral cats.

What I'm trying to convey to certain individuals reading this forum(and anything else on this topic) is that feral and free roaming domestic felines have an definite impact on native fauna. Think about Australia for a moment.

A few years ago there was rumors going around that there was going to be a tag that had to be bought to have a cat as a pet, just like a dog tag. When I first heard of this I figured it would be a good idea because people don't want to have to pay extra to have another pet and the number of cats would go down. But the problem is is that most of the cat problems are from cats that people allow to run free. How could a dog warden or cat warden (whatever) be able to give someone a citation for a loose pet when all they (the pet owner) have to say is that it isn't their pet and that it just runs around the neighborhood? To my way of thinking, if I catch a cat out in the woods than it is a feral cat. If I catch it near town than it is someones free ranging pet. I just wish we had fishers here in Ohio. Worm
