I'm going to order a couple and plant them in the backyard to see how they grow and produce. Anyone have any tips or pointers on these?

YUP... Love them persimmons. A good friend of the family used to have a couple of those asian persimmon trees. Them things could get about the size of a tennisball on a good year unlike the wild ones
