Subsonics 22..?

It occurred to me that I've never fired 22 subsonic ammo. how would you describe their noise level compared to regular shorts and standard velocity long rifle? I'm looking for something kinda quiet due to neighbor encroachment lately. thanx all.

How close are your neighbors and what kind of vermin are you after ??

The remington subsonics are a little quieter but are still plenty loud.
They are very accurate from my guns

CB caps are the quietest but you will have a hard time killing anything much bigger than a tree rat.

I have been shooting the Remington Sub Sonic Hollow Points out of an old Marlin Model 25 Bolt Action Rifle. While I have not shot any .22 Shorts for many, many years, I can not compare the Sub Sonics to them. However the Sub Sonic Remington Hollow Points produce about half the muzzle blast that regular Hi Velocity Hollow Points produce. In addition I use the Remington Sub Sonic Hollow Points for close quarters pest control, and to my surprise the bullet hitting an animal produces more sound that the gun going off (muzzle blast). They are about as accurate as the better shooting .22 LR Hollow Points I have tried in this rifle.

I like the Remington sub-sonic for accuracy,
But I don't see that they are all that much quieter
than a standard velocity.

I shoot the subsonics for all of my uses it is more accurate than the HV in my 22's. For hunting I use the Eley for practice I use Aguila. Price and HP size are the reason for changing ammo at all. The price for Eley is $4.80/50 rds and it has a huge cavity vs the $1.40/50 for aguila but it has a smaller cavity. Both will spin reactive targets at 50+ yards but the aguila seems to hit just a tad lower and left of Eley so I have to adust my scope for hunting which means I get to shoot more. The sound out of 20" barrels is mild compared to HV ammo with both types due to no sonic crack. I have tried the moderators and find that they are just as accurate as aguila's and about the same speed. I was able to max the Black Death Target with the Eley, so I have to give the nod to them for accuracy.
