Some NEF question
« on: March 18, 2005, 08:44:21 AM »
With all the new heavy bullets available for the 223, wouln't it be nice if NEF had an optional barrel with the 1 in 8 or 1 in 9 twist? I would like to take advantage of the heavier bullets.

Has anyone heard when the 500 S&W will hit the stores? No store that I have checked has seen one yet. Has anyone else seen one?

When did NEF reintroduce the 22-250? I have seen a few new ones in the stores around here. 2003? 2004?

I wonder if we will ever see a 260 from NEF?
shot placement is everything.

Faster trist for .223 - I'd buy one.  If you reload there is a bullet from Sierra (63gr) that I have tried in my Handi with some IMR 4895 that is getting just shy of 1" at 100 yards.

I think the 500 S&W is still getting into production.  I haven't heard of ANYONE that has one yet.

22-250 just came out this year.  (a few months ago to be exact) I'd like to have one, but waiting to hear some reviews from others first.

Sports South's inventory doesn't show the 500 S&W in stock yet, so it's probably not  been produced by H&R yet. The 22-250 is in stock in 2 of the three offerings, the Ultra Varmint fluted is still not in stock.

I just picked up a box of those 63 grain Sierra Semi Spitzer bullets. I should get out from behind this computer and reload some shells. I have new Speer 130 grain bullets for the Handi 7mm-08 as well. I just picked up my stainless 243 and have a new box of 85 grain Coted X bullets to try in it.
shot placement is everything.
