Caliber conversions
« on: March 19, 2005, 05:16:55 AM »
Hey all.  I'm hoping this can be an interesting thread.

Everybody here has heard about the 357mag to 357max conversion, with just a simple chamber reaming.  Ditto with the "Improved" line on the factory 30-30

I was wondering what other reamings are out there with the line of caliber offerings that NEF has handed us?

Could a 22 Hornet be modified to 22ppc?

Could a 22 rimfire bbl be chambered in a centerfire caliber and fitted to a centerfire action?

How about that new 7.62 x 39?  Could that become a 30BR?

Has anybody tried these?
Just my Awf Hand comments...

Awf: Converting a Handi from round to another has been done successfully by several members, many you've already mentioned. The one thing, some run into is choosing a round that is long and big enough to completely clean out the old chamber. Keep in mind the pressure limits of these rifles, other than that the sky's the limit. Good Luck:  :D <>< Duce:

If you change the 357 mag to a 357 max, can you still shoot the 357 mag ammo???
