Well… I went off the deep end and purchased an Ed Brown Executive Carry. If my dealer puts everything in the mail Monday it should be here by the end of the week.

One of these has been on my “to buy” list for a few years now and I finally gave in. Oh well, we’ll see what happens. I just had to tell someone.  :?

Have looked at Ed Browns website: http://www.edbrown.com

From everything I've read about them is that they are top quality, functional and great looking!

What finish did you go with?  Maybe you could give us a report with your first hand experience.

TScott0 - if his pistols shoot as well as his barrells do then you are in for a lifetime of one heck of a gun.  They are very well spoken of.  You should group 2" at 25 yds with hardball with that piece.

Hey raw52, I went with the all stainless model with the abby safety. It also has the bobtail grip.

Mikey, A bout a year ago I did a lot of research on custom smiths and their work. EB was the only one that I never heard a negative comment over. I also like his ideals of the 1911 because he likes simplicity. I hope it works out. I’ve never owned or shot a custom 1911 other than a few different race guns so I took a bit of a gamble.

Lloyd, I may have committed a sin but this gun replaced the FA I had in mind. I try to save up and buy something every year or two if funds permit so it may be a while before I’m back on track. Maybe the SA Gods will forgive me this one time.

hey Scott im guilty too. I just picked up a colt gold cup trophy. One thing to keep in mind is those 1911s are single actions so were allowed!!!

It took a long time for me to break down and buy this gun. I had plans to shoot today but here come the rain just as I had everything set up. Gonna give it another shot tomorrow. So far I’m impressed with the workmanship in this gun. Everything appears to be top notch.

I did manage to squeeze off enough rounds to sight it in. After sight in at 15 yards I put 14 more though the gun for a 2” 15 yard group. That’s not bad considering I haven’t shot in over 3 months. After bit of refreshing and some range time I figure it will shoot those groups at 25 yards if I do my part. I was using Golden Sabers.

Right on!  I know Ed Brown personally and used to shoot with him in Bianchi, NEMO PPL , etc.  I bought his #12 MaxiComp back in the early 80's when he started making guns.  Been in his shop when it was a 20X20 foot building with few machines.  His quality and attention to detail and customer satisfaction is second to none.  He is a Semi quiet guy and lets his work speak for itself.  You did well by our standards here in and around Perry Mo. where he is from.....Enjoy!!
