I've shot several bullets thru my 45-70 Handi and 45-120 BC, haven't shot any load/bullet that didn't group 2" or less at 100yds. From everything I've read here, they shoot all .458" bullets well, and for me that includes some cast bullets, too! The 28gr 2400/350gr Hornady load is no exception. The 300gr rem and win factory loads were also good, as well as the 405gr rems. The 350gr sierra in the PMC Silver ammo shot 2½-3" groups at
200yds!! In the 45-120 BC which has the same 1 in 20" twist, the Cast Performance 460gr WFNGC bullets shoot less than 1½" at 100yds with aperture sights!.
MIdeerhunter, it's just a matter of time before you get a .45-70 Handi, if I could only have 1 caliber Handi, it would be the .45-70.....but I'm sure glad I can have more than one!!!! Here's a pic of most of em...not including the newly aquired 22 Hornet, 30-06 UltraComp and 7x64 Brenneke...
