As for a load, I shoot 150 gr. ff
Don't paint my ammo, put I do screw a strip of lawn chair webbing to the load, that way you can track it much easier thru the air.
Had a couple of pictures of it from last fall, I'll have to find them and send them in.
My mortar was made sometime in the early 60's.
I have an old Shooting Times magazine dated Feb. 1962 that has a group of fellows in it that are shooting mortars just like mine.
Mine looks like a scaled down seige mortar, has a gear drive on the bottom that is used for elevation. It has a hammer system for firing a muskit cap. Weight is about 80 lb.
The man who started building them was Bob Tingle, he made these from an old steam engine crankshaft.
Keep it out in the garage, will try to get out there and take a couple more pictures of it.
I'm a member of the CWSA, we have mortar shoots about twice a year, but I take it out during the summer months just to have fun with.
