my grandpa has a remington model 31 light weight. and i was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about it. its a 12 gauge if that helps. i was thinking about taking it out and shotting some clay birds with it. maybe some real birds this season.

They were made from 1931-1949.  Earlier models had checkered pistol grips and slide handle.  Later models had plain stock and grooved slide handle.  Ref; Gun Traders Guide.
