Bisley Black Laminated Grips
« on: March 25, 2005, 10:58:19 AM »
I thought Ruger put some factory Black Laminated grip panels on their Bisley SBH Hunter, but I cannot for the life of me find them anywhere. I've got a Bisley that I think would look real pretty with a set of those on. Anybody know where I might find those, or maybe somebody who makes laminated grip panels for Bisleys?

Thanks y'all!

Yes, all the Hunters have the black laminate grip panels.   You may be able to buy them from Ruger but you can buy them directly from the supplier for Ruger, Lett grips. www.lettgrips.com
I believe they're around $50 and then you can add medallians (red or black) and checkering also.
Occsionally, they show up on ebay and will go off for $30+.  Got one set of mine that way.
A few other comapnies I believe also offer these but without the ruger medallions in them.

I too was interested in them for mine. I think I found them after a LOT of searching on the Ruger site for about $100. I don't want them THAT badly.

GB, you're a better man than I if you had the patience to find those things on the Ruger site. They have a pretty site, but when it comes to finding accessories, it's like they have two sections.

I'm a liking' the Lett grips, with a medallion. Thanks y'all!

Here is a link to the Rugers.
http://www.ruger-firearms.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10051&storeId=10051&categoryId=11975&productId=17884&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=11957&lastCatId=null

It says $47.50 each and it will let you order online but it doesn't let you choose which side you want.  I'm guessing that is the price for a pair.

I just found this old post and thought that I would add that I have two 5.5" barreled, consecutive serial #ed s/s Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt.

The guns came with the standard rosewood grips which I didn't like the look of at all.

When the Bisley Hunter model guns came out with the black/gray grips I got on the phone to Ruger and begged/pleaded with them for 2 pairs of the Hunter grips.

The lady took my phone # and called me back several hours later, saying that they had found 2 sets of the grips and that they would sell them to me for just under $50.00 each.

The way she was talking sounded like they didn't sell these grips seperately.

Sorry guys I have pictures but haven't taken the time to figure out how to post a picture yet so I can't show them to you.

These guns look absolutely fantastic now!

I new they where the only Bisley Vaquero's in Canada with the Hunter grips but didn't realize that these grips are rare in the States as well.

When the Bisley Hunters first came out, they weren't selling the grips seperatly as they were all being committed to the guns being shipped - no extras.  Eventually they became available seperately.  Lett Grips makes them as well as most of Ruger's other grips.
Got a pair for my ss Bisley on ebay - paid around $25.00 I think.

I have recently bought several pairs of grips for my old Vaquero from Lett Grips. They are exeremely well made, and I got good, fast service, good prices. They are the manufacturer of Ruger's wood grips, - you can buy their grips with or without Ruger medalions, and with hand checkering ($25 extra.)

I just checked Lett Grips web site and found the black/grey inserts panels for the SRH.

Awesome I'll be ordering a set for my 454 Casull SRH as soon as I can.

Thanks for posting about Lett Grips............

I've gotten a few pairs from Lett.  sometimes they're very quick another time it was almost 5 weeks.  Depends I'm guessing on what Ruger's got them doing.  They, Lett, isn't lkely to risk losing the Ruger contract because of a few private consumer grips.  Like other manufacturers, they likely do runs of specific models and materials at a time.  order after a run and you may wait until the next run.  All mine have fit perfectly and been very nicely finished.  one set is checkered and that too is very well done.  They used to have a small mention (ad) in Ruger's catalogs but not sure if they do now or not.
