I am looking for a person or company that makes acyrlic ammo blocks. Does amyone out there know of anyone who might be able to help me?

You know those really COOL looking blocks that us silhouete shooters use at the line!!!!!! Looking for one that is setup for smallbore and high power

I'd love to have a couple of those myself, now that you mention it. One for cowboy and one for scope rifles would simplify my life a little.

I have one of Joseph Maesto's (sp?) HP blocks for silhouette (10 rounds with a cavity for empties.) He's a BR shooter and Sinclair retails his BR blocks. You might try to Google him up and call him direct since I think he makes silhouette blocks only on special order. There may be a phone number on my block. I'll look when I get home.

I know this might hit some nerves; but why do people use ammo blocks that hold ten rounds when you are only permitted to have five rounds on the table? Al Foust

5 rounds only on the line? Another rule I hadn't heard of. No nerve touched here. I was generally aware that rounds are to be laid out by fives to discourage ammoral lowlives from firing extra shots. I've seen people admonished about bringing a full box of .22 to the line. Maybe I'd better start putting only five rounds in the block. By the way, when I ordered my block about five years ago Mr. Maisto threw in a small, five round block with no "empties" cavity. The sticker on my block says: Joseph A. Maisto 262-633-9199 FAX 262-633-9154. Don't know if these are current. He's a nice guy.
Of course, a reasonably handy person could make his own.

Fenton Sandlin (the match director) in Winnsboro Texas makes beautiful blocks. Whether he's interested in making them for general sale -- he tells me he's already as busy as he wants to be with custom scope bases -- I don't know.

Having more than five rounds on the table bothers me because a few years ago I had to disqualify a shooter for shooting extra shots. This fellow was using a clip and was putting a round from his hand into the chamber and closing the bolt before inserting the clip. ( six shots) It took quite some doing to catch him as he was pretty sly and I wanted to be sure we had him caught redhanded. I know this was a different situation than more than five in a block. But, the rule does say five rounds; and when we go to Nationals that rule is inforced. What happens with this case and a lot of other situations is that at a lot of the local matches things are let slide and many shooters take for granted it's ok. I know we all want to be accomadating to attract new shooters, but there has to be a limit to what is allowed. Al Foust

First of all I would never think of trying to shoot an extra shot. The only person I would be hurting is myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So that said does anyone know of anyone making 5 shot ammo blocks?

I did actually read the rules once. I must be getting old!
I frankly don't remember what I did about ammo on the line my one trip to the Nationals but Nomad was the line officer and he didn't have to yell at me much and not once about ammo! (I think.)

Have you been advised that Mark Pharr is holding a two-day regional HP match in New Braunfels April 30/May 1?
He called me and said: "Ernie, I've been watching you shoot. Would you be interested in coming down and calling the match?" (I'm trying to decide whether that might be a hint of some sort...) :eek:
