Anyone have the factory 204 ruger in a 14" contender barrel? If so how do you like it, and what kind of velocities can you get out of it?

Thanks, Tad :D

Muzzel Blast

Tad, I have a Ruger rifle in 204 w/ 20" barrel and the muzzel blast must be accounted for.  I love the 204 but I do not think I would be happy w/ 14 inch barrrel, the noise and muzzel blast would be too much for me and my hunting buddies already complain about the 20" rifle.
Thanks and Gig''em

Why is the blast so extreme for this round?  Not doubting, just trying to understand.

Small diameter hole, 28 plus grns. of powder and bullet speed of over 4100 fps.
My guess is that you would have identical results using a 22-250 in a 14" barrel.
