New G2 ???s
« on: March 31, 2005, 09:30:45 AM »
Just picked up a new G2 carbine this afternoon for my sons birthday. My first G2...have had several Contenders. Curious how anyone else that owns one likes them. This one has a great stock set on it........nice walnut satin finish. Seems pretty well made but ya gotta love that funky hammer lock thing. Any body have both old style Contender and G2 ? If you setup one gun/barrel with handloads do they work well using the same barrel on the other frame?

I can't see any reason accuracy would change from switching frames. Unless the breach face to chamber was excessive on one or the other which is highly unlikely. Or if the lockup was quite a bit different it could change I suppose.   KN

I have both.  The only problem I have is with locking bolts on some of the older barrels not fitting the G-2s.  Some of my harder recoiling barrels I keep on the original because I have Pachy grips on it and I can control them better (at least in my mind).  The barrels I switch I have stoned the bolts to make them work.  POI hasn't changed between original and G-2 frames.
