LVSF Accuracy

I just broke in the barrel on my new 7mm08 LVSF. I took my time using Hornady light mag 139, Win. supreme 139 fail safe, and Remington 120 grain. All of them shot 1.5" to 2" at 100 yards. Since then I have sanded down the two ridges near the forend so that the barrel is completely floated. If this does not work is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance.

This may not help, but since no one else answered I will.  I have a model 7 7mm-08.  I left the forend pressure.  I shot two nice groups last weekend with two different kinds of ammo, but both were my handloads.  You might try tightening and loosening the action screws to some degree.  I hope this helps. Hi.

Sorry for late response.  I was just browsing this site and came across this topic.  I have an LVSF in .223 and was disappointed with the accuracy when first used.  It shot no better than 2 MOA.  I had the trigger adjusted, had it glass bedded and fully floated.  It now shoots 1/2 MOA for 5 shot groups.  Suggest you try the bedding job.  Good luck.

Properly glass bed the action, recoil lug and 2" or so of barrel. Put back the pressure point it really does help not hurt. Use JP Bore Paste to lap the locking lugs.

LVSF.
         laminated varmint synthetic fluted? are is it LightVSF..if your barrel is of a light contour.you will have to wait for the barrel to cool between shots.are if you just shoot one after the other.you may not ever see a decent group.I have a custom 7mm-08 and it has a light barrel on it.thin taper.I have to wait awhile between shots at the range as she heats up very fast.and that will cause the group to widen.

I've got the same rifle and love it.  This is a 3-shot group from last November that I shot.  (Light Varmit Stainless Fluted)

Ditch the failsafes and she may not like corelocks either. Try a box of Fed prem in a bonded type if they have it or Rem with Sciroccos.
