« on: January 31, 2003, 02:05:59 PM »
Hello all,  guys does anyone have a good load using the 75 grain sierra hp?  I'm shooting a Ruger mk II with the 24 inch semi heavy barrel.  Thanks everyone.

JD Driver,

Although I don't have any 25-06 info, I do want to welcome you to the forum!

What part of GA are you posting from?

I shoot a Ruger M77V (older model - tang safety) but mine has a 26" barrel.  Centennial Model, made in 1976, and these are the two loads I use;

75 gr. Sierra HP, 50.0 gr. IMR 4895, 3,516 fps.
75 gr. Sierra HP, 57.0 gr. Win 760, 3,543 fps.

Both will shoot around an inch at 100 yards.  As with any load someone gives you start under and work up, just a good idea.  By the way mine is also my favorite deer rifle.  Lawdog

I use a 75 gr Vmax over 50.1 gr of Varget shoots well in my Ruger M77 MKII.

Dave

As always, work up to this load, it's very near listed max.
