leather holsters
« on: October 10, 2008, 07:12:37 AM »
hello to all: I'm new to this site and have never posted anything anywhere else, mostly just reading what others have to say. But no one has posted anything I've seen about this so I guess I'll ask. I use leather holsters for my handguns and was wondering if any of you do the same and if you do is there anything that you use on them as a preservative/waterprooing etc. thanks johnjohn

Welcome aboard,
I use leather holsters also with very RARE exception. When I get a new one I use Atsko Sno Seal on it. Its basically bees wax, it preserves and waterproofs. It will darken leather slightly. If you have not used it, put the leather on a sunny windowsill until warm and then just start rubbing it in. After wipe it good until its not sticky and your done.
Also use it on slings, boots, and I even did a 20 year old dried out bomber jacket.
