Turkey question?
« on: April 04, 2005, 04:46:23 AM »
My son and I went turkey hunting on April 2 in north central Texas and the turkeys were gobbling their heads off at sunrise.  We went the next morning and they were almost silent.  Why did they act this way?  p.s.  my son missed but we still had a great time.

some days they gobble more than others... high wind and/or rain can cause them to be quite... so can hunting pressure.  Calm, clear, crisp mornings are perfect for gobbling.  Sometimes they just don't gobble as much and there's no explanation for it.
