Maybe this will help make the day for some of you. This story comes from Washington state.
A would-be robber burst into a store, announced that he was there to hold up the place, and fired a few wild rounds from a .22 target pistol to gain everybody's attention!....So far so good!....However: 1.) The store he picked to rob was the H&J Leather & Firearms shop. 2.) The shop was filled with customers, many of whom were carrying. 3.) To enter the shop the robber had to go around a marked police patrol car parked right in front of the shop. 4.) The uniformed officer was standing at the front counter having coffee.
Upon the robber's holdup announcement and firing his pistol, the police office officer (9mm), the clerk at the counter (.50 AE), and 9 customers drew their guns and returned fire. Paramedics pronounced the perp dead at the scene. Crime scene investigators revealed that the robber received 23 gunshot wounds, and ballistics indentifed rounds from 7 different weapons! No one else was hurt or injured during the exchange of fire.
