Hello all.
I'm a first time poster. Just purchased a Daisy Powerline 1000s & I was wondering if anyone can share any information about this model, positive or negative. Is this an old model or is it a new model?

After firing the gun at least 30 times I've come to the conclusion that this air gun is in need of some fine tuning. Any recommendations? Or should I return it to Wal-Mart & get a refund instead of going thru the expense of tuning?

Since I am inexperienced with guns, this is after all my very first airgun, I would like any information on sighting my scope. I tried hitting a can from about 35 ft. using the 3-9 scope with no success. Can anyone give me pointers on how to sight my scope. I don't know anything about sighting scopes.

Set up a fairly large piece of cardboard, and put a target in the middle.....the bulls eye needs to be small, as you need to shoot at the exact same point each time......shoot off a good rest of some kind.......put the cross hairs on the bulls eye and squeeze the trigger.......shoot at least 3 rounds in order to see if your getting a close group.........if you are, prop the gun up where it won't move with the cross hair on the bulls eye, and turn the scope adjustments until they line up with the pellet holes on the target........shoot again and you should be hitting the bull's eye.......

If your not getting a good 3 round group, you either need to practice the basic fundamentals of shooting or return the gun and get something more accurate......Air rifles are load of fun.....

I'll make sure & do this today. I'm wondering how far should I shoot from, should I shoot from a farther distance as opposed to a closer distance? or start off from a closer distance?

35 feet is about 11 to 12 yards. this seems to be a good range for air rifles.........If your not hitting the card board at that range then move closer until your on the cardboard....I would suspect that at 10 yards you should be able to hit something the size of a small cardboard box....you need to know where your hitting in order to make the adjustments........
