I was in a gun shop the other day and they had a new AK-47 with a light Brown stock it looked like a lamented wood stock because it Had light and dark Brown strips in it. it was in new condition and came with a 20 round mag. they had a price tag of $450.00 is this a good price?

rickyp: Hmmm, they can probably be found for less from the Shotgun News and the like but then you would have to figure transfer fees and taxes, so it may not be too far off.

Sounds like a nice stock and factory 30 round magazines are readily availble.

I like the Kalashnikov action and the way the rifles shoot. You can smokem right up and they keep coming back for more, oh yeah!

Sounds like a reasonable gun shop price, but it would definitely be worth picking up a shotgun news, but then you get transfer fees and paperwork. My local shop has an add with them starting at 269, SOG and Sarco have them under 350.

Gunshows will almost always be your best prices.

I just bought a new Romanian AK at a gun show for $325. Had a laminated stock, bayonet lug, threaded barrel with muzzle diverter, and accessories (sling, mag, bayonet, etc.).

They were selling like hot cakes! They had a bunch of milsurp, but sold out of the AKs in about 3 hours!

Unfortunately, these are "regulated" weapons in the "People's Republik of Maryland." I hope to take actual possession in about a week.
