My experience with Ruger Revolvers over the past 10-15 years:
Bisley 41 Mag - Sold because the grip tore my hand up
RH 44 Mag - Did not have long, sold to buy something else
SRH 44Mag - Not very accurate, not enough sight adj. for loads I like, sold
GP100 - Most accurate Ruger I owned, sold
SS 22 Mag - Still have it, fun little gun, accuracy so-so
Bisley SS 22 lr - still have it, fun gun, accuray so-so
I am a big time Contender shooter and shoot them better off hand, off bags, with open sights or a scope way better than I ever shot the revolvers, which is why I sold the SRH and and GP100 this summer. I also said I would never buy a Ruger again because I always seem to run out of sight adjustment and the so-so accuracy.
Now the problem is this 41 Mag Super Blackhawk Hunter I have been looking at. My past experience tells me to not buy it. I read posts about the base pins coming loose and that tells me not to buy it. But dang, I love the 41 Mag and that gun does look pretty. I have a dealer that will order it for me for $470 and Davidsons still has them in stock. But I tell myself no more Rugers and convince myself of it. Then I get to thinking that this could be the diamond in the ruff and could be the best Ruger I have ever had.
What to do, what to do. Maybe I will debate it long enough and Davidsons will be out of them. Then again, if I put my money down Tuesday I could be shooting it this weekend.
