Can anyone suggest a SYNTHETIC CUSTOM STOCK maker?
« on: April 02, 2005, 10:26:35 PM »
I'm not interested in wood.  I want fiberglass, kevlar etc.  I'm looking for quality Encore stocks with no mold marks or lines and a variety of finishes.

Suggestions appreciated.

And to add to the above...sure would like to find one that WOULD NOT drill the holes in the forearm by request.....allowing for use on the BB hanger system, or regular factory barrel.

Tri MPI Stocks out of Portland Oregon.  I have a couple of them and have found them to be good stocks.  One is on a Mark X mauser in 35 Brown Whelen and the other is on a Ruger #1 in 30-06.

I know of a cheap solution for you.  Use a factory wood stock and coat it with spray on bedliner.  A few coats of the bedliner will give you the look and durability of synthetic for a fraction of the cost.  I have used it on a few guns most recently my Marlin guide gun.  If you seal the inside of the stock well and use the bedliner on the outside the stock will be just as durable as a synthetic stock.

"TheBear_78"

That is a Great Idea!

Do you have a favorite brand of bedliner?

I have used the dupli-color brand in black and it seems to work really well.  I have told this to a few other people and they have also said it was very easy to use and had similar results as me.
