he may not be an archer buckskin. and also alot of guys may not want to try with a bow for their first bear. my first bear will be with a bow....but i certainly dont think im everybody. i dont look at it as any less sport be it by rifle, muzzleloader, bow or whatever.....cuz when one starts choosing which method is "more sporting"....they open up the can of worms as to whats acceptable as well. and one thing the sport of hunting does not need is division.
immore bowhunter than rifle hunter myself....but i consider those who hunt with rifle or shotgun more often to still be my brothers in the sport of hunting etc....
believe it or not there are folks who will rip on someone for bear hunting over bait but think its totally different to call in a turkey within shotgun distance. way i see it...we are both trickin game into getting into effective range to kill the animal.
i challenged his fellow to try and get his bear bait set up to get bears in daylight......his reply was...he wont because he thinks bear hunting over bait is "not real hunting"....lol no use arguing with that guy....cuz ive sat in many a blind and shot many an animal out of them by calling, baiting, ambushing. ive also stalked many game animals still hunting or spot and stalk. its all fun and its all got its challenging moments......and virtually every acceptable by law method has its percentage of failure involved....
ok just hopped off my soap-box... :-D
