Which Red-Dot ?

Ok i already have chosen not to use the handgun sights and want to use a red-dot, this will be for deer hunting at close range 20-35yds with 50yds a max shot The only experience i have is with the tascos which are on the kids 22's  and i do have a tasco model on a ruger single six 22 with a 4 5/8 "and although this has been working fine for a couple of years i dont think it would work on a ruger super blackhawk .44 mag. with a 4 5/8". Can you guys suggest some different models that i could look at and give me an idea on price range Thanks Tanoose

I would look at Millet and Ultra-Dot. If they can hold up to my 500 MAG they will work on your 44 MAG.  :D  Also Bushnell Holo sights are good as well a the Leupold red-dot  :grin:

Millet is hard to beat for the money.  Either 1" or 30mm.  Comes in silver or black.

 I truely love the Ultra I have but, guard it with your life if you decide to buy one of these. The customer service isn't what I'd call buyer friendly.

It sounds like the Millett dots are tremendously better than their rifle scopes, I bought a new Millett 6x25x56 on a 300 ultra, only 21 rounds were neccessary to blow the glass down inside it. Then a hassle to replace it, Graff changed out the scope with me for a Bushnell 3200, 10x40 mil dot, I am one happy customer now.

I've had a Millet reddot on my SBHunter .44 for 9 years now with zero problems.  I put in a new battery every year and it's good to go. Just guessing I'd say it's withstood 15,000 to 18,000 of my knocking around load of 250gr cast at 1100 fps, and another 2500 to 3,000 hunting loads of 268 gr cast GC at 1400 fps. Midsouth has them for less than a $100(I think I saw the 30mm for $87).  I have another one on a High Standard Victor (extra Barrel) for longer than the .44. Works for me!

Millett Red Dots are good...You can find them on the net for $75 for the 1" model.  The 30mm models are more...

Wider field of view and easier to pick up the dot with the 30MM.

I have an AIMPOINT 2000 mounted on a SRH in 44 magnum. I use it to hunt with and the occasional bowling pin match. It gets lots of shooting never had a problem. Holds zero and easy to adjust when needed.
