I'm not sure if mine is quite the same.  I think mine is a PT 92 AF with fixed sights.  Once I got some thin Houge rubber grips on it I like it a lot better. My hands are small and with the smooth original grips the gun would twist  on me if I tried fast strings of shots.  Since I hate reloading the 9 (tiny cases) and hate chasing brass I only shoot a couple hundred rounds a year. I don't carry it much as its a little big for concealment and 9mm is too light for Alaska wildlands work.  But I shot it the other day and I like it for a house gun.  I bought it about two weeks before the 10 round magazine law went into effect just to have a double stack gun and its lasted pretty well.  I don't think its as accurate as a tuned 1911 or other competition gun but it works fine for my use. Had forgotten how mild the 9mm is compared to full house 357 in a SP 101 or my 41 mag guns.  Wish I could get laser grips for it. I can ususally keep a clip on a 4 inch circle at 10  yards. The aluminum frame makes it light to carry for its size but I haven't given it the kind of work out to know how durable it would be with heavy use.  Doesn't seem finicky about loads and its digested some heavy handloads.  Don't recall any failures to eject except for a couple really light (too light) swaged bullet loads that leaded badly.  I stay with jacketed now. HTH

thanks for the info. i just read your reply but had picked up the pt-92 last week. i am very happy with it. i've shot 4 brands of ammo, all 119 ball and independence by cci i believe is the best so far, umc sucks. cci brass blazer in the middle. the indp. will shot sub 1.5 @ 50 ft. while the umc has trouble staying within 4 inch. wal mart was out of win. white box so can't say anything about them yet. all in all i enjoy this 9 mm alot and like you stated its not a 357 but fun to shoot.

Hi Charlie,
I use the Wal-Mart 100 pack Winchester in my PT 99 and it works well.  Actually I haven't found any ammo that doesn't work well in my Taurus.

I've had my PT 99 for quite a few years and after I got used to shooting it, I was amazed at how accurate it is.  I've been able to pick off pop cans at 100 yards.  The gun has never failed to feed, jammed or anything else; it's just super reliable and with the 17 round clip, it has pretty decent fire-power.

Dand,
If you are serious about laser grips,
give Crimson Trace a call.  800-442-2406. I called to ask if the Beretta 92 grips would work, they said NO, but the Taurus is one of the most requested grips they dont make. Maybe enough calls will get them in production.
My taurus was aquired in a trade with a GBO member a coupla years back, I have been very satisfied with it. I did put a set of LPA adj sights on it, but otherwise stock. Reliable and very accurate.
Now if I could just get those laser grips.

Yes, a few days after I shot my Ruger SP101 with CT grips I emailed CT beggng for thin rubber laser grips to put on my AF, my security 6, and a rubber style for the SP101.

I love those laser grips.  Finally enabled me to shoot really well with the 101.
