Can anyone tell me what pistol Gus used to whack that bartender with in "Lonesome Dove"?

That's what I thought at first but I've heard others say it a Dragoon and I don't know the subtle differences between them

In the movie, it's a Walker.....in the book, Gus uses a 'Dragoon', and I think this may be the source of the confusion, coupled with the fact that the Walker was designed for 'Dragoon' use! :-D
But the movie gun is for sure a Walker.

It's a Walker for sure. It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, but I was thinking at the time that it was a cartrige conversion? May have to go watch that scene again

Redhat, take a look at the loading lever. Dragoons came out with loading lever catches as one of the improvements over the Walker. :-)
