kicks choke?s
« on: April 09, 2005, 03:08:11 AM »
Hey all, I have a 10 gauge nef, do you think going from a 690 kicks to a 680 kicks will be to much and blow my pattern? I have tried the 695 and 690. The 690 tightened the pattern alot. But I am wondering if the 680 will be to much. Any thoughts on this?THANKS AND GOOD HUNTIN!!

I tried the same thing, went from .695 to .690 but that was enough. What size shot are you trying? Mine patterns best with #5's and will do good with #6's also.  With four shot it gets just a bit patchy at 40 yards. If you are using sixes and getting a loose pattern try going to a four or five. If it tightens up you may be able to go to a tighter choke but if it blows you'll know your at the limit. I also load my own.
