'Bigfoot' video a hit in Norway House
Ferry operator 'freaked out' after filming huge creature

Tue Apr 19 2005 Winnipeg Free Press

By Nick Martin

IS Bigfoot walking the bush around Norway House?

Residents have been flocking to Georgina Henry's house to watch two minutes and 49 seconds of video shot by her son, Bobby Clarke, on the banks of the Nelson River shortly after dawn Saturday morning.

"It's pictures of Bigfoot," she said.

"It's black and it's big. Oh god, it's huge -- seven or eight feet high," Henry said. "We can see him walking, and then turning to look at him.

"People have been coming constantly to see it," she said.

"I don't know what it is," Bobby Clarke said yesterday from the Nelson River car ferry he operates at an uninhabited bush area 40 kilometres from Norway House.
"It was just massive, standing tall. I'm freaked out."

Clarke said that since he saw the creature about 250 metres away across the Nelson River Saturday morning, he's been really nervous, especially when he takes the ferry to that side of the river.

The creature walked upright on two legs back into the bush barely 200 metres away from the ferry dock. The bush comes right up to the dock, he said. "It's all bush, right to the shore."

Clarke was on duty at 6:30 a.m. Saturday when he saw the creature on the far shore, and grabbed his camcorder, which he always has with him.

"I saw this big black figure across the river -- it was about 250 to 300 yards away," he said.

"He's pretty shook up about it -- he doesn't know what it is," said Clarke's wife, Winnie Clarke.
"Elders say it's a blessing, it's a spiritual sign if people see it," she said.

His wife said she's hearing from people who've seen Bigfoot themselves, but lacked evidence.

"People say they've seen it, but don't have proof of it," Winnie Clarke said. "Now that he's got this video, there's a lot of trappers and fishers out there, they've seen the tracks over the years.

"I've never seen a bigfoot, I've never seen a sasquatch. A bear doesn't walk like that," she said.

"On our TV, it's very blurry. When you take it to a flat screen TV like his mother has, it's pretty clear."

Henry said she'd like to find a media outlet willing to buy the video, Clarke was uncertain what he will do with the video.

Several people are talking about taking a boat over to look for tracks, but Clarke said he isn't very anxious to join them.

I have heard about it.  I am in The Pas, Manitoba, about 274 miles southwest by road (thanks Garmin and Mapquest!).  There are stories from time to time, but for various reasons I do not pay too much attention to the majority of them.  This one supposedly comes with a video, which I will have to see before I believe.  Right now I do not disbelieve, but will wait for the video before I decide.

The video is in Winnipeg, Manitoba getting analyzed and that should be completed by the end of this week.  When I do hear of anything more I will post in this thread (with links where possible).

Thanks
Chris

We all know these things do exsist its just their so smart and have been elusive for all these years.  They have even been seen from choppers using night vision too.  Why does our goverment hush everything up?  BigBill

If you do a search for;  "bigfoot in manitoba"  a  lot of interesting sites come up.

Here's one i found while surfing link to link, click on the video its a bigfoot hunter;

Now this is a question that I have always asked myself.  If the technology exists that could help to decide the matter of bigfoot's (et al) existence, then why not use it?  Is it a matter of money or is it as BigBill stated and that knowledge is being withheld from us? (us meaning all citizens)

Back in the early 70's the US goverment did research into the northwest rockies to see wether bigfoot exsists or not and results have never been released to the public.  Everything seems to be hushed up that happens.  On one search a helicopter using night vision seen a bigfoot but nothing was ever further  done about it to pursue it.  Maybe its hushed up so we leave it alone.  The russians seem to be into and on top of this bigfoot thing more than we are.  They have also been releasing info about what they know about UFO's too.    Only time will tell.

I read in one of the articles that they would not release it because they were trying to sell it.

Late this week I heard through hearsay that they would release it after copyright had been established.

I was actually just looking for an update.  I will post what I find.

a friend of mine was up there when this was shot, he's a floor installer and just got back on friday night. he heard it's been bought for 10 million by CBS. it's supposed to be a 3 and half minutes of video of these thing rooting through cat tails, and walking around. apparentlly the sightings up there aren't to uncommon, but this is the first time someone had a camera. another friend grew up there and went to school with the guy that shot the video. small world.

Now my only other question is will it be accepted as a real bigfoot or will it be presented as a guy in a fur suit again??? (a phoney or Faked??)  Its sad but it will be discounted by many until there is a body.  What about the one that was shot lastyear in the us??  We haven't hear anything more about it yet?  They had a dead body right??                   BigBill

I just heard from a guy in the hall here at work (now there's a trusted source for accurate news!   ) that the clip is to be shown tomorrow at 5:00 and 6:00 Central.  At least one of those times is for a Fox showing.  I have cable, and the channels are apparantly only available on StarChoice or Bell.

I will try to find out more and get some confirmation.

Here is a link to an article from the Globe & Mail.  It mentions that the clip will be shown today, but only if you have a satellite tv service (star choice, etc.).

The article also provides a link to the A Current Affair website where you can view a short snippet from the video.  It's pretty grainy and does not appear to be conclusive ... perhaps they will have a clearer version on their show?

From what I been reading on the other sites about the video, it was out of focus, and to far away for any detail  , so it still dont prove anything. I bet the old boy that shot the film, is rolling in the floor laughing about the money, current affair, paid him for the film.
