I don't recommend see-through mounts. I have found that with a low-power scope I can be just as fast as using irons. Most of my rifles have Leupold 1*4*20 Vari-X II's on them , but I do have a couple of Bushnell 1.5 * 4.5 *32 Banners a Weaver V-3 (1-3*20) and a Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5*20 (at least that is what I think the Nikon is). I had o/u's on a couple of rifles and found myself always going to the scope.

I won't use them because they make you put your head further up on the stock, and I find it an un-natural position.  Also the scope just looks funny sitting up that high.  :D

I don't recommend them. If you need to be able to use your sights for backup get some quick detachable rings is my advice.
