help with ID of gun

I have a single action 22mag that my dad gave me it has no marking on it but made in Germany on the under side of the barrel the grips are plastic with a colt like logo but not the same as a colt any idea what this is :?

Could be a Rohm. But hard to tell with out pic's.  :D

Brian,

There is probably half dozen single action revolvers that came out of germany so its hard to tell without seeing it. It could one of those mentioned above or it could even be a Haws, Not sure about the spelling.

You most likely have a "Hawes". This was a "Frontier Scout" look alike that was manufactured in Germany by JP Sauer and Sons. Pretty good guns.

I don't recall the Hawes ever having logos or medalions on their plastic grips. I also thought Sauer but maybe not.

The Hawes is a very close copy of the Colt. I gave mine to my son, so I can't examine it at the moment. I recall the black plastic grips being very simular to Colt in appearance. There is a logo, just can't remember what it looks like at the moment. I do recall the barrel being marked "JP Sauer & Sons".
