beaver and rain
« on: April 25, 2005, 04:27:22 PM »
Is there any correlation between beavers and rain?

I mean do they move more on rainy days/nights?

I noticed something this past weekend when I added my last 2 beaver to our records. 6 out of the 8 that we caught were on rainy or snowy nights. Any thoughts on this?

Just a thought ...
From what I understand , beavers "patrol" their dam looking for spots that need repair . On rainy nights the water really spills over the dam and the beavers are naturally out trying to stop it .
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"

I don't believe rain bothers a beaver one bit---now that is rain in moderation. They seem to travel just fine in anything but a downpour.
